Veneers
Porcelain veneers are extremely thin casings of ceramic that are bonded to the front of one or more teeth. Porcelain veneers may be placed over the front of a tooth that appears too small or too large, is discolored, chipped or is not cosmetically pleasing. For many patients, porcelain veneers are the perfect solution to create a more natural shaped and colored teeth and a more natural smile.
When placing porcelain veneers, Dr. Williams pays close attention to your surrounding teeth and designs each veneer to complement your mouth.
Dr. Williams ensures that your new veneers are constructed of the most durable porcelain materials available. If cared for properly, your veneers will last a long time.
Procedure
The procedure begins with the preparation of the tooth. This involves removing the discolored or unsightly portion of the tooth and meticulously shaping the tooth in preparation for the new veneer. Once Dr. Williams has shaped the tooth, we will take an impression. This impression will be sent to our lab where your new restoration will be crafted. While the new veneers are created, we will provide you with a temporary restoration. Our temporary restoration will resemble your natural teeth so that you can continue with your daily life.
During your second appointment, Dr. Williams will insert your finished veneers. The veneers will be fitted comfortably into your mouth to make sure your new veneers feel like your natural teeth. The final step in the process is to bond the new veneers on your teeth.
